New Day/Old Night

Sniffling Indie Kids / Mint 400
ADDS 8/25/15
DIGITAL ONLY

Rocky Catanese and The Chapter, from New Brunswick, NJ, come out swinging with their debut EP New Day/Old Night. Led by Rocky Catanese and a group of close friends, the band traffics in a penetrating power pop sound reminiscent of Matthew Sweet and Jimmy Eat World. Opener “Better Now” immediately establishes what they’re all about: roaring guitars, big drums, and soaring choruses.

Rocky has been fighting the good fight to keep the New Jersey indie rock scene alive and well, having managed the Court Tavern, one of NJ’s most legendary venues, for several years after it re-opened. After his previous bands broke up, Rocky hit the studio with these six songs, playing almost every instrument on the record. With the help of Joe Lanza and Chris Nino laying down additional guitar parts, RCATC are carrying the torch for the rock song as anthem that NJ bands are known to produce. Just try listening to “Retreat” or “Stealing” without singing along. We hope you enjoy it!
