We Choose to Go to the Moon, the debut full-length album from electronic indie-rockers Revolution, I Love You, is an experiment in pop music. Revolution, I Love You culls elements from across the pop spectrum, including gritty indie rock guitars, dance and hip hop beats, dramatic choruses, loops, and synthesizers, and uses them to strange and sometimes psychedelic effect.

The songs on We Choose to Go to the Moon are often personal, making their anthemic treatment all the more interesting. Lead singer Rob Lindgren pleads for forgiveness over a Phil Spector-styled wall of sound on "Graceful Steps", croons that he "can't do this on [his] own" over a backbone of 808 samples and fuzz guitar on "With Anxious Smiles and Fitful Swaying", and struggles with his role as an artist over a lilting, staccato drum beat and a subwoofer-pushing bassline in "Anthem Underground".

The album was self-recorded and produced over the course of two years with little more than a handful of microphones and a nearly 10 year-old Pro Tools Digi 002 rack. The first year was spent working in Lindgren's parents' basement in a small town in central Delaware, and the second year in a bedroom of the house the band had moved to in Philadelphia. The album was then passed on to Alan Douches of West West Side Studios for mastering. In the past, Douches has mastered albums by Sufjan Stevens, Ben Folds Five, Frightened Rabbit, and Beirut, as well as the Misfits Box Set.

"Revolution, I Love You is deconstructed pop music...Costello and The Boss and Phil Spector sucked through a rusty filter of industrialized, hipster dance music."-Ryan O'Connell, ORIGIVATION MAGAZINE
