"Still Ill... Ah...finally we have arrived. Titled Still Ill as a nod to 90’s style parallel compressed drums, and Bill Withers’ seminal album Still Bill, my debut EP is a compilation of all things that represent my sonics so far.

I feel like I’ve captured the scale of emotions I’ve felt throughout my youth. Listening back, the majority of the EP is fairly self reflective. It feels like a coming of age project in some capacity. A response to growing up and being willing to admit my fear of aging, and the struggle that comes with searching for who I am as a person and what my role is as a human on earth.

"Living" was a track originally conceptualized while traveling through India. The chorus screams “the sun comes up, the stars go down, I hold my head and say, this can’t be living...” As morbid as that idea may be, I felt it was important to speak for a group of people who live in a reality that is so unfavorable that they don’t  even get the opportunity to listen to music.

The contrast between the music and the lyrics is pivotal for me. Something that sounds so optimistic sonically, but speaks to a such a dark part of existence is something I don’t hear as often as I would like." - Jane Holiday
