Out the most unlikely of places, a bedroom in Maryland comes musical masterpieces from Alec Morgan and his project Fawn and Rabbit. His music spans the last 40 years of music taking bits and pieces of influence from all the greats and spinning it into amazing pop all recorded on a laptop in DIY fashion. The songs all remain, however, remarkably hi-fi sounding. Mint 400 Records, bring you the debut LP from Fawn and Rabbit “Twin Universities. An album which was over a year in the making. A mish mash of previously released hits like “We Own The World (Today & Tomorrow)” and new indie pop classics like the title track “Twin Universities” and the moody Beatles-ish “Nosferatu”.
Unlike most of todays pop artists Alec Morgan is the most humble and shy artist you might ever meet. He’d be fine with a press release that read “I make pop music with a bit of psychedelia and folk rock.” However don’t let that fool you into thinking that he did not labor over every single second of pop bliss on this album. A methodical perfectionist in every way and it shows in the precise electro pop that he presents to the world as his debut. This album sounds modern and classic all at the same time.
