"Fairmont is indie rock we should all be thankful for" - Amp Magazine

“Love & War” represents the pre-cursor to what will be New Jersey indie band Fairmont’s 8th studio album. This newest effort, particularly the single “Love & War” represent a song that Fairmont consider to be one of their best. It’s comparative to the band’s 2008 release Transcendence and the epic song “Being & Nothingness” with its complexity and attention to detail. However in the years since the band has grown with the addition of vocalist Sam Carradori who adds the female counterpoint to Neil Sabatino’s striking vocals. Along with the solid rhythm section of Andy Applegate on drums and Christian Kissala on Xylo-rimba & Glockenspiel, Fairmont has grown by leaps and bounds from record to record. Their newest album expected for early 2015 represents some of the bands most polished work. This will be the 2nd album that was fully produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by the band from their home studio, The Forest Of Chaos.

“I feel with this song and album we have grown into a band with a distinct style and sound. With this newest song I feel we cover a broad spectrum of influences from garage rock to pop and a lot other things in between, but don’t take my word for it, just listen”, was Sabatino’s advice to his audience. Sabatino also expressed, “I think any artist who is Brian Wilson like, in that they tinker with a song for months in the studio will appreciate what we did on this track. There are many layers and hopefully with each listen the audience will hear something they didn’t notice before.” One of those minute details are the harmonies that bring the single to a close provided by Sam Carradori and  guest vocalist Chris Lee of label mates The Maravines.

The B-side that is available with this release is a new punky version of a mellow Fairmont classic titled “My Only One” from 2009’s Meadow at Dusk. The B-side shows Fairmont’s ability to take a subtle solo acoustic song and turn into a full band energetic rock song.
