Eula
Language of Threat
Self-Released
ADDS 3/17/09

Eula will be releasing their second EP entitled Language of Threat in March of 2009, with an East Coast tour to follow. The three musicians met while DJing in the basement of New Haven, CT's finest independent radio station, WNHU [88.7FM]. After realizing eerily similar playlists, it wasn't long before the three united and began creating their own music to spin on the airwaves. Drawing on influences from the rockabilly, punk, and new wave families, Eula released their first demo, Up In Arms, in the winter of 2007. The songs reflected an earnest, almost nervous anxiety as Eula paired eerie, high-pitched vocals and hypnotic guitars with booming, back-beat heavy percussion. After playing dozens of local gallery openings, dive bars, and artspace loft parties, Eula claimed a spot amongst the renowned city artists of New Haven, and created a niche for themselves in the CT independent scene. They were asked to join Skipping Stones Records' Northampton Popfest 2007 bill, and served as openers for Jade Tree artist Panda & Angel. It wasn't until their first EP Fill Your Heart, released in the winter of 2008, that Eula was recognized as an unstoppable force in the Northeast music community. Eula was named Independisc.com's "Feb. '08 Feature", chosen first on the list for "Six Bands to Watch in 2008" by the New Haven Advocate, and appeared on Series Two Records' Indie Pop Compilation. Eula toured the Northeast in the Spring/Summer of 2008, playing alongside Jay Reatard and Martha Wainwright at the I Am Festival in New London, and shared the stage with such acts as The Chinese Stars, Panther, Fiasco, and The Screaming Females.
