“On their MGM debut, EF’s strident, oft-operatic tunes come across like Dappled Cities gone cabaret, but with more menace... This is glorious indie-pop manna.” - RAVE Magazine

“Superb pop, with just a hint of theatricality.” - Dom Alessio - Triple J

“For guys that aren’t presently known world-wide they seem to be teetering on the verge of a breakthrough moment,” - onetimesone.com

“Essentially, what we have here is one of those increasingly rare acts that manage to blend technical proficiency with mainstream appeal and a sound to soothe the ears of pitchfork reviewers.” - Buzz Magazine

Enola Fall are one of the top ten indie bands to watch out for this year” - Robbie Buck -Triple J

“If there is one word to describe them, it is ‘unconventional’. From the unusual strategy of handing out a notepad into the audience mid-set and asking for feedback, to their unique brand of keyboard-driven rock, this is a band that doesn’t do things by the book” - Andpluckyourstrings

Enola Fall is a four-piece from Hobart, Tasmania, with an extremely strong focus on intense, captivating live shows. Musically they sit somewhere between the cabaret crescendo of Arcade Fire and the windswept melancholy of Tom Waits, with singer Joe Nuttall’s voice running the gauntlet from whisper to sea-lion roar. Enola Fall came into existence in the spare musical climate of Hobart circa 2003, initially comprising many musicians playing everything from accordions to samplers and kaoss pads. As the group evolved in tandem with the burgeoning Hobart scene; their songs became more muscular and melodic, incorporating strong elements of cabaret and audience interaction. This culminated with performances at both the Tasmanian and Victorian Falls Festivals, a national tour, selection as a Triple J ‘Next Crop’ artist, and the release of ‘We Never Sleep’, the band’s first major album.

The record led to a support with England’s Turin Brakes on their German tour. As well as several shows around the UK. Since then, Enola Fall have supported Amanda Palmer, The Panics, Architecture In Helsinki, Cloud Control, The Jezabels, The Violent Femmes, Eskimo Joe and Something For Kate. In 2009, the band released ‘Glorious Five Year Plan’, an indie pop album piled high with dense imagery and soaring cabaret vocals, and their first release for MGM. This was followed by a national tour to six states. Enola Fall were recently voted ‘Best Tasmanian Band’ at the State’s Amplified Awards, and are widely regarded as one of the state’s major ‘break out’ bands.
