Eli Mardock

Eli Mardock first garnered public acclaim in the mid 00's as the lead singer of indie cult favorites Eagle Seagull. With their art-house image and epic, atmospheric sound, Eagle Seagull produced a wilder, more frenetic take on the brooding indie rock of Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade.  

On his solo debut, 2012's NE Sorrow is Born EP, Mardock delivered an angst-filled masterpiece; a gorgeous and dreary debut drenched in melancholy and orchestral dampness. Mardock returns in 2013 with another EP, Hamburg, and his forthcoming debut full-length album Everything Happens for the First Time. Hamburg marries T. Rex-soaked pop hooks and production with a John Lennon-esque take on introspective singer/songwriter fare.  Everything Happens for the First Time, Mardock's debut full-length album, is scheduled for release in May 2013 via Paper Garden Records.
