Le Monde Tournes Toujours is an alt-folk testament to the importance of seizing the day, and there are few more qualified than multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter The Duke of Norfolk to make that pronouncement.

Since taking up his nom de plume in 2011, Adam Howard has released five EPs and a single, collaborated with songwriter Kacie Williams on a joint EP, and completed a national tour of 43 diy-booked dates. If that wasn't enough, he contributed new material to two compilation albums, made all his own album artwork, and recorded/engineered several albums for other artists in that span. It's fitting, then, that the English translation of his sixth and newest EP is "The World Keeps Spinning." Le Monde's sound calls up similarities to Noah and the Whale, Mumford and Sons, and Sufjan Stevens, as Howard writes complex arrangements built on a base of banjo and guitar. No matter how many instruments are included, the foremost elements are the "very raw power" of his vocals (Nathan McKinney, I Hope Your Ears Bleed) and poetic lyrics. His voice is employed in a variety of moods, from the intense "An Evening Waltz" to the enthusiastic "In the Morning When I Wake Up." "Happy Birthday, happy living," Howard announces in "Hawaii 2012," and that's his goal: make every day worth it. "This EP is the culmination of all the things that I've learned about writing, recording, and performing in the past two years as the Duke of Norfolk," said Howard, and the songs prove the point: Le Monde includes a re-recording of the very first Duke of Norfolk single and a song written just a few days before he began recording the EP.

The retrospective of sorts marks a new chapter in The Duke's career, as Le Monde Tournes Toujours is the first release with Mint 400 Records for "a wonderful young folk artist" (James Moore, Independent Music Promotions).

"It's awesome. I'm enjoying it immensely." - Jim Verburg, On Joyful Wings
