Donnie Law. A near mythical man, combing dreams through the sand brings us his debut release with the E.P. Clouds Keep Repeating​. The record, written and recorded in his bedroom has a truly personal and intimate touch from beginning to end. In the words of man of the Law himself:

“The first song on the EP, ‘You I Wanna See,’ was written after a show with Delicate Flowers at a café in Montclair. Our set was at the end of the night with a lineup of what had to be a dozen bands. While we were waiting I was going to town on espresso. A friend of ours had just passed as well, so a few of us were in this weird state of shock. When I got home I was still wired, so I decided I would play guitar for a bit. I couldn’t get this friend out of my head and so those first couple of lines were about him. I ended up staying awake to finish writing the song that night.”

The EP as a whole is very guitar centric as Donnie has always considered himself a guitarist before anything else, however to put all the emphasis on the guitar would be an absolute disservice to the dreamy, well crafted arrangements and melodies. Clearly channeling influence from Bob Dylan and John Frusciante’s solo works, Donnie still lays down the Law with a truly original, sensational and endearing collection of songs. May your ear-holes be most pleasured. Live by the Law, abide by the Law.
