Die Progress Unit I
Sniffling Indie Kids
ADDS 11/27/18
DIGITAL ONLY

Delicate Flowers have returned from a journey to the future to bring us their first full-band transmission via a double album to be released in two parts. The first half, Die Progress Unit I, is finally here. What is a die progress unit? It’s a measurement of time via a thought experiment to emphasize the acceleration of technological progress over time.

The album sounds like Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. got in to psychedelic space rock frenzy and threw themselves in to a black hole. The guitars in opener “Vessel” are face melting and the song is basically an instant classic. “Killer They Send” is demented surf punk while “Very Ordinary” is classic songwriting in its finest form, channeling John Lennon circa 1965. “Interstellar Love Song” is a lonely Mazzy Star or My Bloody Valentine-esque lament from a distant planet that segues in to “Heat Death”, a description of the end of the Universe and the sound of a Krautrock band traveling through a wormhole.

You’ve heard loud guitar rock before, but I assure you, never quite like this. And the best part? This is only the first half. Die Progress Unit II is set to arrive in Spring 2019 so stay tuned.
