Detroit garage-pop foursome, The Decks, are gearing up for the release of their first LP, Breath and Bone, on May 26th. They may have started the recording of this album when they were in their teens, but don’t expect ignorant angst. They do live in Detroit you know. So,19 there is really 32 anywhere else. On top of that, while most kids were going to prom, these teens were playing in Patti Smith’s basement (seriously), performing at bars and recording their album with local legends. The first half of this record was recorded with Jim Diamond of The Dirtbombs at his studio, Ghetto Recorders (White Stripes, The Hentchmen). The second half was done with Eddie Gillis (Jack White = John Gillis, Eddie’s brother).
