Bob Mould released Silver Age, his first album of all new studio material since 2009’s Life And Times, on September 4 on Merge. The new record features Bob’s current band–drummer Jon Wurster (Superchunk, the Mountain Goats) and bassist Jason Narducy (Split Single, Verbow)–on 10 brand new Mould compositions in the punishingly loud melodically sparkling pop/rock vein of the Sugar catalogue which was reissued via Merge on July 24.

“a punk legend….succeeding beyond his and anyone’s expectations” – Pitchfork

"Watch Bob Mould Kick Ass On Letterman...If you’re a younger guy in a band and you want to feel like a worthless chump, you’d do well to watch underground lifer Bob Mould blaze his way through his recent single “The Descent” on last night’s episode of the Late Show With David Letterman. Mould’s been at this forever, but he’s still a ball of brawny energy, and his level of urgency is the sort of thing you don’t see too often anymore. The video is also worth it to watch Dave and Paul Shaffer dickishly riff on the name “Hüsker Dü” or to see Mould’s satisfied I-did-awesome deep breath and his loopy, relieved happiness once it’s all over." - Stereogum

"Just as Sugar emerged in 1992 right as Hüsker Dü's legacy was becoming manifest in both the chart-conquering crunch of Nirvana and the underground-overturning squall of My Bloody Valentine, Silver Age arrives as a totem of Mould's continued influence on today's mainstream rock (Foo Fighters, Green Day) and indie-level (No Age, Japandroids) artists alike..." - Pitchfork (7.6)
