The New York Times: If Queen had been an underground rock band from New York, it might have sounded something like Apes & Androids, whose style is as entertainingly bombastic — slick harmonies, horn sections — as it is simple and visceral.

Oh My Rockness: When Apes & Androids do a show, they do a “show.” Popcorn and goobers should be sold. Yes, their sets are full of catchy, completely original songs that sound like they’re from another planet and are nice to dance to. But the cornerstone of their shows has always been an explosion of creativity that makes for a delightful visual feast.

Stereogum: The legend of Apes & Androids showmanship and commitment to costumery precede[s] them, [with] a computer-enabled strain of over-the-top theatrical rock, Queen and Bowie alongside — and sometimes filtered through — futuristic, sci-fi booty beats. Basically, trick-or-treat in a concert. [Apes & Androids are] totally beholden to being intergalactic rock stars (cue back-to-back harmonizing guitar solos, synchronized fist pumps, perfect and bombastic backing vocals, etc.).
