All Sensory Void

All Sensory Void, long one of the solo monikers of prolific NJ musician Eric Goldberg (NGHTCRWLRS, Delicate Flowers, The Nico Blues) began to coalesce in to a band for the project’s fifth release and first as a three-piece entitled Chasing Transcendence. For this record, Goldberg brought on drummer Brian “Dreads” DePhillis and his brother Danny Goldberg on bass. The result is an epic culmination of a sound that Goldberg had begun developing with last year’s Secret Truth of the Universe.

The psychedelic dream-punk grandeur of tracks like “Romantically Hopeless” and “Cautiously Optimistic” are blown out to epic proportions, recalling the Cure by way of Jawbreaker and Lonesome Crowded West-era Modest Mouse. Goldberg’s guitar embodies a blissed-out J. Mascis playing over DePhillis’ Neil Peart-esque syncopations. His vocal howl and lyrical longing embody a Paul Westerberg or Blake Schwarzenbach for a new generation. We hope you enjoy it!
