Tim Fite drops his latest collection of songs entitled RESIST - available for free - on November 17, 2015 on timfite.com. Attacking the atrocities of the U.S. criminal justice system head on, RESIST is a departure from Fite’s typically tongue-in-cheek approach to social commentary. With a raw sophistication that is equal parts outrage and observation, Fite shines a glaring spotlight on systematized racism and police violence.
For this project, Fite’s artistic strategy is two-pronged, utilizing both songs and drawings to cut to the heart of the issue.The final product could be described as time-lapse-hardcore-illustration. RESIST’s nine highly aggressive, in-your-face, rapid-fire, scream-ridden, sample-based tunes are each intensified with a time-lapse video of Fite drawing like a bat out of hell. Wielding ink like a weapon, Fite matches the intensity of his lyrical delivery with slashing, splattering, dripping, and scrawling. As each song plays out, Fite’s line work becomes increasingly complex, violent, and hyper-emotional. The end result is an audio/visual experience unlike any other, where the truth about America’s brutal legacy of racist police violence is illustrated for all to see in black and white.
