ADDS 2/17/15
DIGITAL ONLY

On December 6, 2014, LA-based “speakeasy folk” band Smithfield Bargain celebrated the release of their newest EP, Buttonwillow, at The Hotel Café in Hollywood, California.

Buttonwillow features four original songs in the band’s colorful and unique jazz-folk style, and a soulful rendition of Stephen Foster’s “O Susanna!” live-tracked at Beer City Studios in Van Nuys, CA. All songs were mixed and mastered by Stefan Litrownik at D-Spot Studios (Andy Grammer, Aqualung, Billy Ray Cyrus, The Bellrays).

Since their first release, Pack Up the Moon (2013), Smithfield Bargain has gone from its simple beginnings in a West LA living room to a staple of the West Coast Americana scene, touring Brazil and growing an enthusiastic international fan base. Smithfield Bargain’s music and live performances have been featured on KPFK 90.7FM’sMy Side of the City,” Gorillacoustic.com, MishthiMusic, Beats for Bangladesh, and the Pasadena Star News.

Smithfield Bargain is Sri Panchalam (vocals, tambourine), Daniel Landau (guitar, vocals), and David Landau (cello, vocals, kazoo). The December 6, 2014 EP release party at The Hotel Café featured an expanded troupe of LA's finest emerging jazz talent, including William Logan (drums), Connor McElwain (trumpet), and Tylana Renga (violin).
