The One and Nines

With their recent shows supporting their self-titled Remastered 7-track EP out now on Mint 400, the Jersey City Rhythm & Blues group, The One & Nines, have impressed recent metropolitan area crowds with their authentic throw-back Motown style. Featuring as many as 10 members on stage to back vocalist Vera Sousa’s stylish and vibrant vocal lead at any given show, the group presents a dynamic soulful sound reminiscent of great rock & roll and soul music of the 50’s & 60’s.

The new One & Nines self-titled EP  harnesses the appeal of their big live performances while presenting the group's refined songwriting decisions and subtly cast arrangements. The band's influences can also be heard in the record's production quality which recalls grooves and tone of the band's favorite recordings (Stax Records, Irma Thomas, Spector).
