Lisa Savidge

"Lisa Savidge” is the second LP from Phoenix-based shoegaze/noise pop band Lisa Savidge. Originally founded when Dan Somers (having gone somewhat mad during brief but illustrious career doing Very Bad Things as an intelligence operative for the government) decided to turn his efforts toward good instead of evil. Toward this end, he assembled a band of merry musical miscreants - a violinist on guitar, a classical percussionist on drums, an electronics wizard on keyboards, and a technical guitarist on bass - to build soundscapes as lush and gigantic as possible. The end result sounds something like post rock with vocals - with a bit of frantic energy thrown in for good measure. Sonically, the band has been called everything from “Explosions in the Sky mixed with Sebadoh” to “The Cure meets The Clash” and “The Jesus & Mary Chain in a knife fight with Brian Eno.”

Lisa Savidge is committed to doing social good with their music, and have (thus far) raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity through benefit concerts and donated tracks. Beneficiaries include: Ear Candy, National Transplant Assistance Fund, Arizona Community Media Foundation, Solid Rock Foundation, and Phoenix Conservatory of Music.
