Jack Droppers & the Best Intentions - Scooter

On November 3, 2023, Jack Droppers & the Best Intentions will release their fourth album titled “Scooter” on Bird Fight Records out of Detroit, MI. Scooter was the nickname given to Droppers on account of the red vespa-inspired pajamas he wore every night the year his teeth went through his lip. This memoir-like album takes a deep dive into the stories we tell about ourselves in both past and future tenses. It was mostly recorded at Local Legend Recording in Grand Rapids, MI with some pick up days at Jack’s house, Devin’s house, and Dimnent Chapel. The record was produced and mixed by Drew Elliot and mastered by Mike Cervantes. The lead single “I Want to Be Forgotten” was named the “Beer City Buzz Track” for the month of July by Q94.5.

Jack Droppers & the Best Intentions have released 3 albums, 2 EP’s, 1 live EP, and a dozen singles over the past 7 years. Their third album, “Dad Rock” received the WYCE Jammie Award for “Best Rock/Pop Album” of 2021-2022 and the single “Welcome to the Party” received praise worldwide while being called “The Song of the Year” by Paul Gallagher (brother of Noel & Liam Gallagher and former A&R for Creation Records). They have toured across the eastern side of the United States and have opened up for many bands including Michigander, Gable Price and Friends, Brother Elsey, and many more. The band consists of Laura Hobson (vocals and some percussion), Devin Sullivan (guitar and vocals), James Kessel (keys and vocals), Garrett Stier (bass and vocals) and Josh Holicki (drums and vocals).
